Kareela Road

This project is currently in construction and is for a garage with a studio level below, with a glass lift that is designed to provide wheel chair access down to the ground level of the existing heritage residence. Due to the road being at a higher level than the footpath, we where required to create a bridge and relocate the access stairs either side. Below we have worked with the Landscape Architects to provide usable outdoor entertaining areas on this extremely sloped site. On the ground level, there is a long tunnel that creates a separation between the heritage and the modern, with a deep soil area above to allow for Native Species to be replanted. The most difficult part of the building process has been the logistics around the excavation, as the soil and rocks have had to be lifted to a middle landing area before being placed in trucks to remove from the site.
